My Cobalt kept me safe, however, I was uninjured! It got some damage to the front passenger fender, side of the bumper, headlight, and a smashed wheel. The big truck had of course minimal damage but my little car was wrecked. So earlier this week I was in an accident, a Ford F150 hit me on the expressway as he merged into my lane without looking. Over the years it has had I think 3 recalls but my car didn't have any problems with the affected parts, the dealer took care of everything quickly anyway. Every single 'major' repair has cost me less than $250, so for a car to cost less than a grand in repairs over the course of owning it a decade I would say is fantastic!!! I also wash the salt off and keep it waxed so there is not a speck of rust on the body. I did it the same time I had the spark plugs changed out and the fluids checked. This year I replaced the wheel bearings, which had normal wear and tear and had gotten noisy. Then I believe it was a year and a half or two years ago I needed to replace the fuel line because it had rusted through and was leaking, the shop replaced it with a nylon one so I won't have to worry in the future. About four or so years ago the car needed a wiring harness for the transmission, squirrels had apparently chewed through the wiring (they get into everything here!) and the car was shifting abnormally because of the wires rubbing. I have replaced the battery once about 7 years ago. It has enough get up and go, nice handling, quiet ride.įor the first few years I didn't have any issues at all with my Cobalt, regular fluid changes, brakes, tires, and it was good to go. The plastic materials do feel cheaper than my '99 Dodge Neon interior did, it semed to be a bit more padded everywhere. The dash and controls are laid out nicely and the brushed metal look accenting is cute, I have the two tone interior that is black and grey- the doors are a bit plain because they are all one color but other than that it is fine. Usually these days it is just me in the car for my commute but it has been a reliable family car for years when we had only one vehicle for our house. We have a child now and her car seat attaches well in the middle of the back seat, with it out I can get 3 adults in the back if they are very close friends. The interior is spacious enough, you may run into issues if the people in the front and back are both very long legged (like 6'5") but that's it and headroom is good.

I regularly haul big bags of soil or mulch or stone in the trunk and back seat as I am an avid gardener in my spare time, and with the back seats folded down you can fit lumber, small trees, and we even got a 48" tv home in it! Usually I keep a Saris Bones bike rack on the trunk, it supports it well. I drive it to and from work on the highway and we have taken several long trips and even hauled all of our camping gear in its … spacious trunk. Just go with confidence you will not disappointed.So the rundown on my Cobalt: It is a 2010 that I bought at the end of 2011 with 32,000 miles on it (it had previously been a company car for an electric company so it had been driven a lot before it came to me.) It now has just over 110,000 miles on it. God bless Savanah and her service is great dealership is also great. Makes me and my wife very comfortable with car. She has answered all my questions and help set up my phone to car, explain all car functions. I am guessing other salesperson would also great but I have personal very good experience with Savanah. My experience with sales lady and dealership was great, I would recommend other's to buy cars from rydell and contact Savanah.
